Film fans will be able to share in the profits of the latest project by British director Simon West, the man behind Hollywood hits including Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Expendables 2.
West, whose films have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, has raised £10 million fundraising for his new film, Salty, of which £1.8 million has been raised via crowdfunding platform Syndicate Room.
For the first time, investors will be able to share in the profits made by the film.

Produced by West’s production company, Simon West Productions, Salty is adapted from the novel by Mark Haskell Smith. West has described the film – an action-comedy which follows an ageing rock star – as ‘The Hangover meets Get Him To The Greek’.
Salty is slated to start shooting later this year, with producers currently casting the film. Actors and production staff will also be given equity in the movie.
