Please note: Canary is no longer trading
In August 2014, Canary successfully raised £251,000 to recruit in-house development, customer services and sales teams for its home monitoring system.
Canary’s home monitoring system allows elderly people to stay in their own homes for longer, whilst giving their relatives piece of mind. The innovative solution provides round-the-clock reassurance, by discreetly monitoring movement, temperature and light, and letting relatives know (via SMS or email) if anything out of the ordinary occurs. The team consists of Chris Curry, co-founder of Acorn computers, William Cotton, former MD of Boots International, and Stuart Sheehy, previously at BUPA.
This round was led byMichael Harriman and established venture capitalists Mercia Fund Management.
Where are they now?
Canary went into liquidation in August 2019.
