Hatch comes from the team behind VouchedFor, the UK’s biggest reviews website for financial and legal professionals. Hatch is on a mission to make financial planning more affordable and accessible.
The business funded on SyndicateRoom through Access EIS in March 2020.
How it works
"Our mission at Hatch is to make great financial advice more affordable and accessible."
An individual speaks to a financial coach about their financial goals and current situation. The coach will build a financial plan, walk them through it and provide online access. Hatch will then give all the help needed to do the best things with their money.
Hatch uses ‘financial coaches’ instead of ‘financial advisers’ to interact mostly with clients. These coaches are often still working towards completing their financial adviser qualifications, which keeps costs down. When a user needs regulated financial advice such as which mortgage or investment portfolio to look at, they’ll be put in touch with a qualified financial adviser, or Hatch’s automated investment advice.
The service starts with a phone call to talk through life goals and the client’s current financial situation. The financial coach then builds a financial plan. A current trajectory and potential trajectory is shown to the client. The coach then creates an action plan, including budgeting, saving and investing, pensions, mortgages, insurance and wills. Clients are encouraged to review their plan with their coach annually. Hatch charges an annual subscription and an ongoing investment advice and management charge.
